The Alliance Applauds the Senate Passage of the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act and Supports Increased Investment in U.S. Technology

The Alliance for Commercial Technology in Government (The Alliance) applauds the Senate passage of the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act and supports increased investment in U.S. technology. This bipartisan legislation doubles the funding for the Pentagon’s advanced research agency and establishes and funds a technology directorate at the National Science Foundation.

“This critical legislation recognizes the importance of public investment in our technology industry, and  how important technology will be in maintaining a position of leadership in the world,” said Dave Vorland, the Executive Director of the Alliance for Commercial Technology in Government. “It is vital  that the House passes legislation that keeps the intent of developing the best and most innovative  technology and uses that technology to solve the global challenges we will face for decades to come.”

“The legislation would be strengthened by tying some of the research funding to providing for delivering  capabilities that our government needs to meet its strategic needs,” Vorland said.
